The past few days have been filled with some ups and downs. Gramps has been out of bed a couple of times and has gone on a couple very short walks. He likes to know some history on all of his nurses, and asks each one of them where they are originally from. He has finally been able to sip some clear liquids on a very limited basis, and even enjoyed part of a popsicle. He is having some difficulty with swallowing, which is in direct relation to the surgery on his neck and the cancer itself. He's been dealing with bouts of elevated blood pressure and increased heart rate, which in turn leads to bouts of anxiety. He is scheduled for a swallowing test at some point today, along with receiving some instructions on tube feeding for the future. His spirits and disposition remain upbeat and positive for the most part given the circumstances, although none of us (including Gramps) are without our down moments. We are all still just hoping and praying for continued recovery from the surgery and that there is a possibility of some form of treatment once is recovered. Please keep the prayers coming!
